I probably choosed a not very common codec (I'm not used to making AVI's). But most people are able to view it without problem. I've only heard about 1 guy with problems before this.
I'm watching the movie with WMP here at the office, and I don't think there is installed any special codecs here.
When I get home, I can save it with another codec. It would be good if someone told me which codec is the most common.
Good call Temper! I'd like to see that also. I have some limited ability with 3d Max, but would like to start the requests off with a biggie for the modelling gurus: A Super Maxi model. Something like Maximus, Skandia, Alfa Romeo etc, etc... The 98 footers.
I wonder if anyone has thought of approaching one design class associations or their builders for 3D models? Might save a hell of a lot of time, and you might be able to get some of the parameters "correct" rather than guessed.
Also, Virtual Spectator has a 3D model of the Volvo 70, could we see if this could be used?
I'm still learning skinning, so modelling can wait for a few months! But I have line drawings for 1970's era 18ft skiffs
