Now that you have unearthed the wind surfer model I've had to think of another "elusive grail" to speculate on ...

Inspired by a combination of
(i) the power boat that is reported to be able to cruise right through solid obstacles as well as
(ii) the September 15, 2009 blog at http://www.iceboat.org/
(iii) and the free to download and play (if you can read Norwegian) java game ...

... I wonder if any one has seen an iceboat model (or maybe even a sand-yacht model) for any past or present version of VSK ?

Ice-boat for the frozen landscape at those nordic venues.

Sand-yacht for the idyllic beaches at those tropical venues.

Dont know - I haven't tried it.

It was interesting to learn a little about the XML file, trying to make the boat work. But mostly I learnt how difficult it is to get the XML file to do what you want! The 3D model was Ronin's and he also worked on the XML file, so my knowledge of this model is patchy to say the least.

There is a J-boat beta for vsk4 and still available at vskipper.com. One was being developed by Lennart GER at vskfun.com for vsk5. That is the so called 'secret J-boat' at vsk-aus. It was there for beta testing.

The 12M J is the 12 meter. The one I meant is the J-class beta, the big one. Sorry

Sorry again. The 'J-class beta' is a vsk4 model. I don't know what is up with the one for vsk5. You had asked 'Is there a discrepancy on this list of known models?' in the first post and I was just trying to help.
