Install Creator

Post by Rich oot1960 »

Hi all,

While I'm not quite at the point of compiling the Moth for release I was wondering

With VSK5 being for both Vista & XP that it might be better to have an installer version for the two different operating systems?

Due to the fact that "My" has been removed from Documents in Vista.

Rather than getting problems with people not knowing why it didn't work.

Regards Rich.

Rich
This thought had occurred to me as well, although I am even further from that stage! I was going to try running it on XP and Vista to see what happens, and then do whatever was needed.

I don't see how P/C would be able to work it out itself :D
So I'd say that no, 2 different Installer packs would be needed.
Not like the Game itself which installs to program files.
Custom boats don't go there but to "My Documents" in XP
or "Documents" in Vista.
Maitai or Planning did U consider this point?

There is only one installer. It works for winXP, Vista, and probably Win98, if such a thing still exists. We read the register to know where "my documents" is.

And I think anyway due to regionalization you have to anyway. Planing did that.
