[VSK4] X-79 - 1st version from Tom

Post by Kwasi »

Image

Tom made a new model, the X-79.
I think, it is widely known boat.
Without having sailed it on our own, we try to get the polars close to what would be real. Unfortunately, there is no feedback from real X-79 sailors, which we tried to contact.

So, if you have critics, let us know!

Check out www.vivarace.de

http://www.vivarace.de/downloads/index.php?cat=99

Have fun!

P.S.: The installer is not yet in english language. We well get that fixed, soon. Just click on "durchsuchen" which means "browse" and point at the Virtual Skipper 4 directory.

P.P.S: If you want to share Toms Models on your Internet Site, feel free to do so. Just leave a short message, where you are placing Download Links, so we don't lose overview :-)

First, boat is too fast :) specialy upwind ... not sure how it plannes downind?

Also, spin pole looks cool, but it could be added to the other side of the spon as well ... 2 poles, but you do not watch leeward side of the boat too often :)

the boat can glide very fast dw.
Upwind it is too fast, but that is to keep fun in the game :-)

Actually it is the first boat with a spin pole, but vsk4 allows not to shift the boom.

X79 boat

Post by Mot »

Hello

I own a X79, and I have until this midseason raced it locally i Kerteminde Yachtclub (www.Kerteminde-sejlklub.dk).

The danish association of X79 owners can be reached at www.x79.dk

I am sure the chairman will help you out, or else will I.

It would be great fun to race a X79 in Virtual Skipper 4, although I would prefer a red one. My own has number DEN26 and is of course red ;o)

It can be seen on www.storevistorp.dk/x79.php

If I can help you, please contact me lmg"at"galnet.dk

Happy sailing

Mot
A X79 is great, so is a Banner30, and a Laser and an Optimist..;o)

Hi Dynamite

Nope. I just joined on the fun yesterday. I bought a cheap copy (approx. 100 DKK) of the VSK3 and wanted to try it out. I then thought that I might try out the Net in order to see what's out there, and PRESTO I found a X79'er.

My son is dying to try out the Optimist, and wants to race me ASAP. So it will not be long until I get a copy of the VSK4.

It could also be fun to try the Laser, and see what it is compared to my battered old 106764 (More than 20 years old and still racing - well floating ;o)
