Speedboat
Somewhere on one of the sites I visited, there was a boat model available for downloading which would be very handy when building maps. This would make it easier to run the course when editing. Using ACC takes to long and a much faster runabout, no matter how crude the model, would be helpfull. Anyone remember which site it was on?
Thanks, Bill
Thanks, Bill
I had an article on 'The Editor' on Northspace home page for a short while.
You'll find a link to the installer at the end of the boat model list on this page. http://www.northspace.co.uk/downloads.html

Seems like I have screwed it up again.
Thanks to Sandy I downloaded the Editor (speedboat) with no problem until I tried to install it.
Unfortunately sometime in the past I changed some directories in VSK5 and no longer have the 32nd America's Cup directory. Everything in VSK5 works fine except I am having no luck with trying to install the "Editor" even though it says it was installed correctly. I tried both the default directory and then the directories where I had successfully downloaded the RC44 i.e.
C:\Users\Bill Bower\My Documents\VSK5\Boats (Gbx files) and
C:\Users\Bill Bower\My Documents\VSK5\Skins\Boats (DDS files)
When I start the program and go to Settings, Boats I get all boats including RC44 but no "Editor"
Could it be that Editor will not run in Windows 7 or ?????
Tried adding back the 32nd America's Cup directory but no luck
Am really concerned if I have to reinstall the program as I had so many problems originally and it is working well now, including hosting thanks to you guys.

I'm not sure at what you mean by having changed some directories in the past. Can you tell us what version of the game you have? If it is VSK5, then ...
with windows explorer, look for the directories:
C:\Users\Bill Bower\My Documents\32nd America's Cup\Boats
and
C:\Users\Bill Bower\My Documents\32nd Amerciac's Cup\Skins\Boats
See if the editor boat & skins has remade these directories & is living there.
If so, just manually move it to the VSK5 directory where everything else is.

Hi Sandy
Tried all, still no speedboat in settings, even tried all the various permutations of the directories.
Is anyone using it in Windows 7?
I put it in all directories where the successful download of RC44 is too, no luck
I can see the Gbx and dds files but evidently VSK5 (paid version) still can't find them.
Seem to recall that I renamed the 32nd America's Cup directory VSK5 in one of my more stupid moments nevertheless it works fine with everything else except "Editor".

The direcotry path should only be ... \32nd America's Cup\ ... if you have VSKAC32.
If you have VSK5 the directory path should be ...\VSK5\ ...
If you have VSK5Online the directory path should be ...\VSK5Online\ ...
See http://www.vsk-aus.com/index.php?option ... Itemid=198 for a more full explanation.
To navigate to that page manually go to www.vsk-aus.com
Click on Info Centre opn the menu bar.
Click on Game Configuration
Click on 3rd Party Models
Click on Installing 3rd Party Models.
There is a similar explanation on the main page at www.northspace.co.uk too. Well there was last time I looked, but I can't look now to double check because it is blocked by work's content filter as "game related"...

After hours and hours of frustration I now have the "Editor" but......
it is just the blue boat, not either one of the two skins.
I have put the skin files in every different directory relating to VSK5 including the recommendations from the links Bardi and Sandy so kindly sent me. Still no skins appearing EXCEPT the two Editor skins are available for the ACC boat, talk about a wild color scheme.
Since this is evidently a directory problem I will probably get it right eventually.
Wouldn't you know I have another question...
Is there anyway to control the speed of the Editor?
Thanks again
Bill
