3D models with AC3D
I am using AC3D5 to create models for a well known flight simulator. Now my interest has also turned to sailing, in particular Virtul Skipper of which I have VSK4. Does anyone know of, or can direct me to, a plugin for AC3D5 to convert the VSK .gbx files to one acceptable (3DS) by AC3D. This would e...

Hi SuperKev Everyone here started as a newbie. Join any race - only a few will say in the race title that they are for beginners. Stay clear of the other boats till you are confident of close manoevres. Assume you dont have right of way unless you are very confident of the rules. When approaching a...

I can tell you one in particular... In match racing, I fall off to 137 TWA right at the beginning of prestart. Then I want to sheet to 17 degrees of heel. The bottom green line corresponds to that setting. Hope that helps Hi WD, thanks for the info, I have tried this out and, especially with spinna...

New Boy - Good Hosts - Bad Hosts - Rules
I am relatively new to this form of online gaming, the sailing part of controlling a yacht in the midst of many others, all going about the best way of getting a good start without penalties, along with the situation of race rules within a race, this is enough to set me back a little. After some con...

Sorry Harald for not giving the credit for the UI correctly, I guess that I did not look at the source sufficiently. Anyway, many thanks for the explanation and yes it does work in VSK4 (at least for me). If there is any advantage in your new VSK4 version are you, or have you, made it generally avai...

Sandy, thanks for the tip with image shack, I am not sure if this is correct but here goes. If the screen shot shows then you can see where I have 'enhanced' the marks, as I said before, this is a modified UI from AndersDK. I have emailed him for an explanation and am just waiting for his reply. htt...

Sail trimming
Sorry to have caused some heavy thinking. I do not have the facilities to upload a screen shot but after reading all your nice replies I suddenly realized that the graduations (sail trim marks) which I am questioning do indeed come from a modified UI. This is part of a bundle from AndersDK's tutoria...

[quote] I'm not sure which ones you mean here - if you mean the arrows which rotate in the circular compass rose, then they show the True wind direction (TWD), Apparent Wind Direction (TWA) and Stream direction relative to the boat, which is shown in outline. No I mean the vertical ruler type column...

Sail trimming
I have been doing some practise in manual sail trimming and notice that on the trim indicator at the side of the screen are some markings. These are mostly white but there are also some coloured ones, 2 full red - 2 half green and a full yellow? marks. Anyone know what these are for. I have also rea...

Crew in new models
I have downloaded several of the 'new' 3D models and see that there are no crew members present, or at least non are visible in my boats (resolution is HIGH). Is there any way of introducing them, purely as eye candy, to these new boats. I must state here that the ones I have downloaded are, at leas...

ACC 2007 Templates
I have been trying to make my own skin using the templates supplied with the ACC 2007 download. I use Paint Shop Pro 9 (which does not appear to require the dds plugin) and have come across the following problem. Opening the sails and spin files in PSP is no problem, saving them also as DDS files is...
